Description
A car with slightly unusual history. In the early 90s, Morton Stockwell were commissioning a french restoration company, Carrosserie Boulesteix of Angouleme, to restore 'D' series cars for sale into the Company Car market and this is one of those. Apparently they came as a standard spec., all black DS21, 5 speed manual with partial Pallas trim (leather seats but standard vinyl door trim).
Unusually, for a 45 year old car, it has been on the road for most of the 26+ years since that first restoration. Naturally it has had rolling restoration work carried out as required since then and I have masses if history to show what's been done and when.
Work during my ownership has included a new clutch.
She has good tyres all round and stainless steel exhaust. She drives well, with less of the 'clonks and bonks' that some owners of these classics are used to. The engine has done 56, 000 miles since the 1990 restoration, when I assume it was reconditioned.

Not so good:
Previous owner repainted the roof in white and I suspect used paint that wasn't suitable for (porous) 45 year old fibreglass so it has blistered. My intention was to have the roof 'wrapped' but have had too many distractions this year.
Paintwork generally is not as good as the photos make it appear.
Some rust spots on the bodywork.
A few places on the underbody will need patching for the MOT due later this month. The underside can be inspected on a car lift (shown in one of the photos).
There has been a slight leak from the High Pressure Pump throughout my 4 years ownership and it hasn't got noticeably worse in that time.
There is a slight drag on the new clutch since it has bedded in so it possibly needs a new cable? THIS IS NOW SORTED. IT SEEMS I WAS BADLY ADVISED AND IT ONLY NEEDED A SLIGHT ADJUSTMENT.
Headlining has been renewed but the various trim pieces need re-trimming (unless I find time before the sale). The material and adhesive are with the car of course.
Important:
The V5C declares the car to be a D Special. While the chassis number matches, and all the RHD specific parts probably came from the original D Special, much of the car will inevitably have come from other cars, as was common practice in restorations and rebuilds back then. Mechanically, it has all the DS refinements such as power steering, self-levelling directional headlights and more sophisticated braking system.
I am offering the car at what I believe to be a competitive price and for the next couple of weeks it can be legally driven away, after which it will need trailering.
