Description:
A very complete Lotus Europa S1A which will make an excellent base for restoration:

Engine: 697-04/ 0476 (Non-original unit)
Odometer: 03826 Miles (Actual mileage unknown)
Keys: Key set of 4 keys included
Registration: Canadian registration papers present.
History: There is no history file with this car
Body:
The body work is generally in good condition but has clearly had several repaints over the years.
There is no major damage to the body other than the following:
Front floor has been cut and to enable a repair to be made to the frame front T. This has been replaced but would probably need removing and doing again neatly and more structurally.
Spare wheel well has some area of local damage
Cracks around the rear transmission mount, where the frame loop protrudes through the floor.
Right Hand rear lamp mounting area has a cracked / loose piece, which is with the car.
There are areas of filler on the car, as shown in the photos.
The doors, bonnet and engine cover are all complete but need some level of fibreglass work / filler. Please refer to photographs and videos.
These are taped in place to the car, not physically attached at this point, due to the limited time available to remove the car and ship.
Currently the engine cover does not sit correctly on the car. This is because the storage box is sat on the ‘temporary ‘muffler which was used for the fuel injection project.
Once this is replaced with the correct muffler, the engine cover will sit correctly.
Sunroof: A sunroof has been added, but can be removed during the refurbishment if required.
A new Stainless steel door hinge kit is included with the car (Not fitted).
The engine cover hinges and lock are included.
The bonnet lock is included.
Both door latches / locks are included.
Glass:
Front windscreen is with the car. No noticeable cracks. Maybe some small chips.
Door Glass: Both ‘removable’ door glass and quarterlights are with the car and most of the rubber seals. All 4 pieces of door glass are heavily crazed and most of the fixings are missing.
Rear Glass: Missing
All pieces of glass are currently taped into the body apertures to prevent damage in transit.
Engine & Fuel system:
According to the vehicle VIN tag, the original engine was 0443, which has clearly been replaced with 0476 at some stage.
The engine spins over by hand with the car in neutral.
A previous owner started a fuel injection conversion on the car, which was concluded sufficiently to get the car started & idling, but never driven.
All these parts including a custom made intake manifold, engine management controller and harness are included with the car.
The original cast inlet manifold and Solex carburettor are with the car, but need replacing.
This car has twin fuel tanks, each with a locking fuel cap. The locks were checked and the same key opens/ locks both caps.
Although the fuel tanks both look like they were refurbished at some point, the serviceability of them has not been checked by me.
Distributor & alternator are missing.
Transmission:
Although the transmission performance has not been checked, the shifter will engage all gears.
The clutch cable is currently preventing the clutch pedal motion.
Exterior:
Both the front & rear bumpers are included, although 4 of the coach bolts are missing.
The Headlamp finishers are also included with the headlamps.
Mirrors: Two ‘Bullet’ exterior mirrors are included, one with a cracked glass (Not photographed)
All chrome-work will need refinishing.
The bonnet and rear emblems are included with the car. Condition is average.
Interior:
Seats: The original seats have been refinished to a good standard in black vinyl and are a close match to the original finish.
Please refer to the photographs. All four appear to be in very good condition but need a deep clean to remove years of garage dust.
Door Trim: Both door trims are with the car, along with the door release handles.
Armrest: Included but needs remaking.
Choke & Heater knobs: Included
Dashboard: The Vinyl covering is separating from the substrate above the centre console and there is damage to the RH corner next to the windscreen.
Fascia: What is believed to be the original fascia looks to be in good condition and is complete, with the exception of the glovebox handle and clasp. Ashtray is present.
Steering Wheel: The original steering wheel and ‘Lotus’ horn push are included. The steering wheel is in good condition, but the lens of the horn push is scuffed.
Gearknob: Original one missing:

Lamps: (refer to photos)
Both Lucas front headlamps are included, along with their respective mounting bowls and finishers.
Both Carello rear lamps are included: There is a light crack in the right hand stop/ tail lamp, but no major damage. Scuffs and scratches from storage. The chrome will need refinishing.
Both Lucas side repeaters are included. Some small cracks.
Interior lamp is included.
All parts have been carefully wrapped and placed in the rear storage area / battery box.
Dash: All 6 instrument gauges appear to be original and in good condition. All switchgear & cigar lighter are present. Operation has not been confirmed.
Wiper:
The wiper arm, chrome spindle mount, wash bag and washer nozzle are included.
The wiper motor and linkage are missing.
Horn: A ‘made in england’ horn is included, but not clear if original lotus sourced parts. (No photograph)
Fans: Both the radiator cooling fan and the ventilation fans are present. Operation not confirmed
Frame & Chassis:
Frame: Despite the clearly visible work that has been conducted on the lower side of the front T section, the videos show the condition of the remainder of the T and tunnel.
In the engine room there is surface corrosion to the frame but nothing significant.
Chassis: The chassis components are in good condition. The original 13x4. 5 steel wheels are included, although the hub caps and rings are missing.
The previous owner states the hydraulic brakes have been serviced/ replaced, but this is not verified.
The car rolls / steers freely in neutral gear, but should be considered needing full refurbishment.
The parking brake is present but not operational.
This car is currently in the process of being shipped from Canada to Felixstowe UK.
