Fabulous original un-restored Morris Mini Clubman estate 1974. Teal blue with faux wood trim.
This beauty is in very good condition, with no rust; the underside is completely solid, with original sub-frames, and suspension. There are a couple of patinated dings to the front and rear, which I hope you can see in the photographs.
The car starts on the button and idles quietly. Drives very well, with good clutch action and gearbox. The brakes are as good as can be expected for this model and year car. Recent new battery.
The interior is in very good order.
The last owner had the car for 21 years, after buying it from the first owner - a friend - when he was 91 years old, and gave up his licence. The car has been garaged throughout it's life, and not used until recently for the last 10 years.
I had a long chat with the seller who was reluctant to let go, but was under instruction from his wife, as the car is not used, and they are paying for a rented garage, and have a winter home in Thailand.
A retired engineer, he had carried out all maintenance work himself, though the car does come with a thick folder of history, including old invoices, and previous MOT's and the original handbook, and Haynes manual.
998cc, tax exempt. Very rare in this original condition - gets smiles and comments wherever it goes.
All door hinges are good, with non of the door dropping on worn hinged Mini's.
A beautiful, simple, charming wee usable classic, to take to the shows, and bring joy to people, or a simple restoration to concours / showroom condition.
The car is located in South Manchester. I have ramps and any test drive and inspection is welcome.
