Frame number 828666
Engine number 69736. 11L
This machine was in the long term ownership of Lincoln racer Norman Francis until his death on it at Mallory Park in 1992 in a Historic race. He had ridden since at least 1983 when he won the Pre 1944 Vintage Club Championship, he campaigned it in this form until the rules changed in 1988 and he upgraded the girders to telescopics. In the Pre 1948 Championship his best finish was coming second in 1989. He also rode it to first place at the Grand Prix De L'age D'or at Monthlery in both 1983 and 1985.
In 2010 it was in the hands of Ken Hailstone of Hull who rode it at the Coupes Moto Legends in Samois-sur-Seine. He had the engine rebuilt by Alpha of Dudley in 2011 with a crank regrind. In 2013 it was purchased by our vendor who has rarely used it.
As with all old race bikes, prospective purchasers should satisfy themselves as the the originality of all parts of this machine which will have had alterations over its racing life.
Sold with period photographs of Norman Francis riding on his favoured number of 23 and a small history.
