Here for sale, we have a smart and recently refurbished Series 3. On the outside, the vehicle has a recent canvas and sticks with a recent tailgate. A towbar and electrics are fitted - there is also a towball on the front bumper which can be used to move a trailer into the ideal position! The vehicle retains several period features, such as the correct front lamp-guards, and the bonnet mounted spare. The vehicle sits smartly on 750 Military Style 'Chevron' Tyres - these give unrivalled off-road ability and are self cleaning. The paintwork is particularly nice for a vehicle of this age - not flawless, but evidently a spray finish rather than a brushed one. Free Wheeling Hubs are fitted to maximise economy and limit wear to the front axle.
On the inside, a recent set of Standard Seats is fitted, along with deluxe matting front and rear. A smaller steering wheel has been fitted to allow 'elbow room' and a larger driver to fit behind the wheel. The correct diesel hand-throttle is still fitted and functioning within the cab. The rear, although unfitted, could easily house benches on request - making this a 7 seater Series 3 that could carry the whole family!
Out on the road, this Diesel is a keen starter, starting with minimal glow from cold, and it pulls well. The recent rubber means the vehicle grips well, and stops just as it should. The bigger tyres extend the gearing, and give for a pleasant period driving experience, with the benefit of slightly more economy thanks to the Free Wheeling Hubs.
In summary then, here we have a smart and recently refurbished Series 3 which turns heads wherever it goes. The larger tyres make this vehicle superb when the going gets tricky, and makes it stand well if you want to take it into town! It should prove to be a solid investment, and looks great thanks to the recent refurbishment.
