Manufactured in September 1959, and shipped to the USA in the following October, the XK remained in the USA, until 1996 when it was found in a West Coast garage by Air New Zealand Captain Bruce Ussher, having owned Healey’s and MG’s in the past, Bruce purchased the car which was believed to be sound but in need of restoration for around $30, 000, and had it shipped to New Zealand. Over the next eight years the XK underwent a full chassis up restoration, including conversion to RHD, the automatic gearbox had been replaced some years previously, however this and the engine were also overhauled at the same time. Originally supplied in white with a red interior, Bruce decided to have the car restored in an original factory colour Indigo Blue with contrasting biscuit leather interior and trim.
In more recent years the XK has moved to the Northern hemisphere, were it has taken part in European tours together with motoring holidays in Scotland and Portugal.
Condition Report Overall
A fully restored car benefiting from a professional restoration in New Zealand in the early / mid 2000’s. The work was carried out to a high standard, and included a conversion to right hand drive, at some earlier period the automatic gearbox had been updated to a manual four speed gearbox. The combination of the Indigo Blue and biscuit trim provides an appealing colour combination, and following restoration the XK has been well place in Concours events in New Zealand, and more recently taken place in European events. It is now a well restored and maintained car ready for immediate use.

Engine and Mechanicals
Original 3. 8 litre engine with 9. 1 CR cylinder head, manual gearbox with disc brakes, recent service invoices including new disc pads.
