DCD 144 was registered on the 14th September 1936 and according to the continuation buff logbook left the factory in Ivory. The MG spent the the 1960's in Dorset and its is believed the car spent most of the 1970's off the road. In 1983 the MG was sold and then stayed in Kent for 23 years with just one owner. Invoices accompany the car dating back to the 1970's and then during the very early 1990's the MG was subject of a major rebuild to a truly first class condition.
The TA was beautifully restored with original parts including the MPJG engine, gearbox, gauges, Altette horn and original, exceptional body panels. One notable modification is the hugely improved driving experience due to a superior steering box that improves the feel and weight on the steering. Since rebuild, MOT's show the MG has covered just 3400 miles and whilst is now an older restoration, presents in stunning first class order with excellent paintwork, stunning aged Red leather upholstery and a highly detailed and polished engine bay. The MG has full weather equipment and is still with its original number.
On the road the MG is an absolute delight. The engine runs, performs and revs perfectly and offers impressive performance for a car of this era and engine size. It's superb on the road with excellent handling due to the uprated steering box, brakes are sharp the car feels very tight and drives as a recent rebuild. This has to be the very best MG TA we've had the pleasure of selling, it is a real collectors piece that can also be driven with confidence. It will cope well with long distance touring, it is strong, robust and still a gleaming show piece.
