Morris ital 1. 7 hls, top of the range. This is; (I am reliably informed by senior members of the marina ital owners club) The last surviving works registered pre launch press car,
The car was registered in April 1980, with a public launch of July 1980, this rings true, and as also informed by the owners club The interior door handles are the marina type, not the same as fitted to the production cars, further verifying its status.
The car itself is in pageant blue with sand interior. It has 57k on clock and is fitted with the later 0 series 1. 7 ohc engine. The car is currently off the road and on sorn with NO not. Interior is in lovely original condition requiring little or no work, bodily the car is also quite tidy and straight with just some areas needing local repairs to become perfectly useable. The structure is mainly very solid, with some simple inner arch welding required where front valance meets the inner wings. There maybe some other localised repairs required, but nothing major to make roadworthy.
I have had the engine running, and with fuel and a good battery starts and runs smooth and quiet, the car engages gears and moves fwd and backwards. Mechanically I would think a thorough check of pipes hoses and running gear would be in order before car was used, and mot'd to be safe.
This is a very rare old car. There are so few of these left, and this is quite a special car, also being the range topping version obviously to impress the press at the time. It deserves to be saved . Any questions I will do my best to help ring only in 1st instance on the details below. To show you are genuine. I can help with delivery etc but all paid for in advance. Ring to discuss.
