Built from scratch in 2015 using an early (1964) chassis. Specification is to Group 5 regulations for the HSCC Historic Touring Cars series - not FIA specification which for an Imp is too restrictive.
Professional build by a number of top Imp specialists. Body fabricated by Colin Rooney. Full race 998cc on twin 40’s by Andy Jones of Shrigley Engineering. Engine just refreshed by Shrigley with latest profile race cam - 107 BHP on Dyno. 4 speed Jack Knight box by Dave Wheedon, also freshly rebuilt. Set up by Imp rally expert Mickey Dent. Handles beautifully on its Dunlop historic tyres. New bespoke military grade wiring loom to ensure electrics are robust.
Extinguisher, seat and belts all in date and all fluids fresh. Ready to race, is huge rear wheel drive fun, and draws compliments everywhere it goes.
The car has been shaken down in the prestigious HSCC Historic Touring Cars series, Class 1. It should also be elgible for a number of other series, for instance CSCC Swinging Sixties.
Reason for sale is lack of use due to other time commitments. No daft offers please as I don’t have a pressing need to sell. The car could not be built for this asking price and for a competitive Mini you would pay double the money.
