With a heavy heart I have decided to part with my E500 Limited. I would love to keep it but I have too many vehicles and the car was built to be driven as well as owned.
Originally a Bonn diplomatic vehicle the car was then owned in Saudi and Dubai. The Dubai owner shipped the car to Western Australia where I purchased the car in 2013. I shipped the car to England in 2015. The car is not UK registered and will need to be MOT'd and registered by whoever buys the car. The HMRC import document is in the history folder.
The car is showing 203000kms but is on it's second speedometer so the actual distance is approx 280000. There is Mercedes dealer history for approx half it's life after which there are specialist stamps and bills etc.
The car is in good general condition and I was using it for a year in WA. The bodywork is corrosion free but needs the front bumper/ spoiler repainting. The seats have been re-covered with the normal black leather covers as fitted to normal E500 models as the delicate Limited leather was past it's best. The car drives well apart from a hot running issue which requires attention. This appears to be the cold temperature fueling not switching off as the engine warms through resulting in a misfiring and stalled engine which only restarts again once cold. Also there is a leak from the PAS system which needs topping up occasionally.
When the car is running correctly which it occasionally will do it delivers the performance and response expected. The engine always fires easily when cold and oil pressure is excellent. The gearbox shifts correctly and the driveline is quiet.
With some time and effort this car will reward with a great ownership experience. The asking price reflects the condition and work required.
