The 40 series landcruiser's simple style and bullet proof reliability has gained a following all over the world and as such the values of these 40 series landcruiser's have risen, a good original landcruiser with a comprehensive nut and bolt restoration commands a high price while you can buy a project 40 series landcruiser for under 10k.
The three main body styles are the short wheel base jeep (shorty) the long wheel base jeep (troopy) and the long wheel base pick up(Ute).
For sale here is a 1974 FJ45 4 liter straight 6 petrol F engine long wheel base Ute tray back (all sides detach to form a flat bed) the tray back still retains its original oak wood decking within the steel frame the oak wood has been sanded down then stained and has had four coats of yacht varnish applied for durability, a comprehensive nut and bolt ground up restoration has been done over a 3 year period the truck was stripped down to frame then cleaned, painted detailed with new OEM components all new nuts, bolts new glass front and rear with all new window rubber, the interior was given the Bentley treatment by a full reupholster in diamond check the same colour as the exterior with black side columns, plus new door cards from cool cruisers Texas as taken from there web page:
