We are delighted to present for this smart "crossover" Series 2a, with correct headlights in the wings and hard dash.
On the outside, this truck has managed to retain many of it's original features, peculiar to this time - bonnet mounted spare, wing top mirrors, maltese grill, razor bonnet and a brand new set of galvanised hood sticks are fitted, with a recent canvas and coupled with the twin rear bench seats, make it capable of carrying 7 people. Rear belts can be fitted if so required - please see our accessories page on the website for photos and prices. There's a towbar with electrics too, so it's ready to play and work!
The interior has a nice matching set of seats in excellent condition, with belts to the front 3. Deluxe mats are fitted throughout, and a pair of door cards give a smart, period feel to the interior. The rest of it is entirely standard, with smiths heater, twin vents and nice, original dash.
Mechanically, this old girl seems to have been well looked after - with a large folder of receipts to reflect the appearance of the underside and under bonnet.... the result is a very solid truck that drives and sounds superb. From our inspection, we suspect that the vehicle has been taken back to bare chassis, properly repaired, painted and then reassembled. The axles were also nicely painted before reassembly, so it all looks really good under there, and somewhat better than your average, unrestored 2a. This rebuild is probably why other areas of this vehicle are much better than one might expect for age - the bulkhead is really good, and the engine sounds very nice too.... even under the bonnet is nicely detailed.
Form our records we note that the previous owner ran it every week, and kept it garaged in between. He asked for it to go to a good home, as, in that time, had carried out "lots of work........ new tyres, clutch, shockers, carb, radiator."
In summary, if you are looking for an honest, solid, much improved 2a with 7 seats then this might be worth a look. And with MOT and tax exemption, classic insurance, appreciation and cheap spares, it should prove a simple way to invest your money whilst being able to function in the snow!
