Original UK RHD Classic Jensen Healey in beautiful Blue. The VIN number is 14750 and she was ex-factory on 11/ 12/ 1973. The original colour was Tangerine (ICI M0788483) and at some point in the past she was coloured in the current Blue, which personally I prefer.
Being a convertible two-seater performance sports car from a prestige car builder the Jensen Healey
scores very highly as a collectible car. Sensibly priced this one is both a lovely and reliable car to
drive now and represents a sound investment appreciating in value. Everything works and the car
is very reliable. LeverArch file full of Mot certs and documentation. Although she will be MOT exempt post May 20th anyway, she has current MOT certificate through June 2018
The car is considered more desirable in the UK and Europe than USA due to the considerably lower numbers. Currently just under half of cars advertised for sale in the UK have been imported from the US (2017); whilst the car has a Californian style and look it is very much a British Classic and with this one you don't have to worry about importing from USA etc. as it is based in UK. Restoration and maintenance costs are comparatively low for such a rare car, with many parts being available as all the tooling and parts stock was bought from Jensen by a UK company (Martin Robey). The ubiquitous Lotus 907 engine also has a plentiful supply of parts. The Jensen-Healey is fitted with the 1973 cc Lotus 907 dual overhead cam (dual side-draft Dell'Orto carburettors), 16-valve all-alloy engine. This multi-valve engine is the first modern dual overhead cam 4 valve per cylinder engine to be mass-produced on an assembly line. This setup puts out approximately 144 bhp (107 kW), topping out at 119 mph (192 km/ h) and accelerating from zero to 60 mph in 7. 8 seconds. I have used the vehicle for pleasure driving in the summer months and it has always been garaged; it had a brand new alternator fitted a year ago and a brand new JH hood (supplied by Martin Robey) fitted by Vamped in January 2018, to complete the stunning looking car you see in the photos. Manual gears 1-4 plus Overdrive; JH key fob with separate keys for ignition, boot, driver door and passenger door (the passenger door can only be locked from the inside - but this does save the driver having to get out and walk around the other side of the car to lock it! -it can be unlocked from the outside); there is currently minor rust/ bubbles under the driver side window and minor blistering on the separate panel between the boot and hood, but nothing that spoils the car and this is already reflected in the reserve price. These are increasingly rare to find - only about 170 left registered in UK and many of those will be USA LHD imports unlike this one. Lovely example available to view if you wish.
