BMW E21 316 in very good condition
Phase 2, so 1. 8L, Alpine White colour, blue velour interior.
It has a 5-speed gearbox, cigarette lighter, rear windows with a compass, and the tachometer. The tool kit is complete, the triangle, the jack with the wedge, and the spare wheel with boot board and original carpeting are all present. New tyres mounted on original steel wheels in very good condition. The user manual and BMW service booklet are present in the pouch, original rubber floor mats also.
Bodywork:
No rust. The paint was redone by the previous owner, with a few minor defects (stone chips on the front bumper, front bumper black trim to be replaced but supplied, small discreet run). Therefore it is truly as presentable as the photos suggest.
The windscreen and chrome trim are new, the various exterior chrome fittings are in good condition, as shown in the photos.
Interior:
The interior is in good condition, despite a few minor imperfections: the dashboard is like new, with no cracks, the door cards and the centre console look good, the gear lever knob and gaiter are perfect. The seats hold their shape and are firm but show light colour fading, with no tears, which is very rare.
All indicators and the electrical system work perfectly: from the instrument cluster lights to the headlights and even the parking lights.
Mechanical:
Top end rebuilt: all head gasket joints replaced with resurfacing of the mating plane and valve seats. Peripherals: new fuel pump, water pump, thermostat replaced, carburettor cleaned and tuned to the original settings, including auto choke. Replacement of the oil sump gasket.
Compression on all four cylinders between 9. 5 and 10. 5 bar as per the RTA. Spark plugs and filters (oil, air, fuel) are new and fluids drained (engine oil, gearbox, differential, brake fluid and coolant).
The front and rear suspension were rebuilt with replacement of all silent blocks, bearings, discs, pads, drums, shoes, shock absorbers… the brake and clutch master/ slave cylinders.
All work has been carried out by me (except the head skim), strictly following the RTA and the few documents available online. I did this with care (not my first restoration), with no deviation from originality, between 2021 and 2023.
History:
Bought in the southwest five years ago, the odometer showed 35, 000km, unlikely but consistent with the current state. If cared for (very lively) and well maintained (very reliable and simple to service), it will go to 200, 000km without difficulty.
No history before 2019 but I keep a detailed log with my interventions and invoices for new parts.

Price is firm but can be reduced by removing small options (cigarette lighter, rubber mats, manual…).
Stored securely, sale to move on to a 323i, so not in a hurry.
