BMW E21 316 in very good condition
Phase 2 so 1. 8l, Alpine White colour, blue velour interior.
It has the 5-speed gearbox, cigarette lighter, rear windows with compass, the tachometer. The tool kit is complete, the triangle, the jack with the wedge present, as well as the spare wheel with original boot plaque and carpeting. New tyres mounted on original steel wheels in very good condition. The user manual and the BMW service booklet are in the pouch, the original rubber floor mats as well.
Bodywork:
No rust. The paint was redone by the previous owner, a few minor defects (stone chips on the front splitter, black trim on the front splitter to replace but supplied, small discreet runs). Present, therefore, as much as the photos show.
The windscreen and chrome beading are new, the various exterior chromes and fittings are in good condition, as shown in the photos.
Interior:
The interior is in good condition, despite a few small imperfections: the dashboard is like new, no cracks, the door panels and the central console look good, the gear knob and gaiter are perfect. The seats retain their shape and are firm but show slight discolouration, but no tears which is very rare.
All the lights and the electrical system work perfectly: from the instrument cluster lights to the headlights, including the smallest courtesy lamp.
Mechanical:
Top end rebuilt: all cylinder head joints with resurfacing of the head gasket plane and valves. Peripherals: replaced with new fuel pump, water pump, thermostat, carburettor cleaned and original carburettor adjusted, including automatic choke. Replaced the oil pan gasket.
Compression of the 4 cylinders on the upper range between 9. 5 and 10. 5 as specified by the RTA. Spark plugs, filters (oil, air, fuel) are new and fluids drained (engine oil, gearbox oil, differential oil, brake fluid and coolant).
Front and rear suspension renewed with replacement of all Silentblocs, bearings, discs, pads, drums, shoes, shock absorbers… the brake and clutch hydraulic cylinders.
All interventions have been carried out by me (except the cylinder head resurfacing), following the RTA and the few documents available on the internet. I did this with care (this is not my first restoration), with no deviation from the original, between 2021 and 2023
History:
Purchased in the southwest five years ago, the odometer showed 35, 000 km, unlikely, but it matches the current state well. If cared for (very playful) and well maintained (very reliable and simple to maintain), it will reach 200, 000 km without difficulty.
No history before 2019 but I keep a detailed log with my interventions and invoices for new parts.

Price is firm but may decrease if removing some options (cigarette lighter, rubber mats, manual…).
Rest well, sale to move on to a 323i so not in a rush.
