This 1982 Mercedes 280 CE in petrol blue metallic was delivered new to the UK in August 1982. Equipped with the famous M110 engine, here in the version with Bosch K-Jetronic injection, a guarantee of reliability. The vehicle is registered in France, and was sold following the death of its owner. It has a full on-board kit and service book, which was completed up to 2007, but above all it has all its service invoices since 1998, providing proof of its mileage and technical follow-up. The bodywork has been repainted in its original colour, and is of high quality. The bumpers, radiator grille and all the fittings are in very good condition. The underbody was repaired at rear floor level and protected by a new anti-corrosion coating throughout in 2020.
The interior is in good original condition, with some wear to the fabric in the centre of the driver's seat. The woodwork is faultless. Dashboard in perfect original condition and not cracked. Carpet in very good condition. The plastic covers for the seat back joints are faded and discoloured. All the controls are functional, including the sunroof, 4 windows, ventilation and heating. The boot has its original spare wheel and the Mercedes tool kit with red cloth. Functionally the car is pleasant to drive. Cold start with enrichment without difficulty. Hot starts are also no problem. We drove the car for 300 km with pleasure, in the middle of winter and in the rain... with no worries. The engine is pleasant and powerful. The vehicle will need a new exhaust because of a major leak (it will be possible to replace it before delivery, at the purchaser's expense).
