Description
Lotus Elan S4 Coupé - Lightness, performance and timeless style "Simplify, then add lightness". This simple, pragmatic philosophy guided the design of the Lotus Elan. A testament to Colin Chapman's talent for creating cars that combine performance, lightness and driving pleasure, it remains one of the most iconic cars in Lotus history.
With its 119bhp engine and fibreglass chassis, the Lotus Elan offers a pure driving experience typical of the lightweight sports cars of the 1960s. Design and equipment: The interior of this vehicle reflects the elegance and functional simplicity of the era, with semi-Bacquet leather seats and a sleek yet luxurious dashboard. The three-spoke sports steering wheel, typical of sports models of the era, offers a precise grip and an authentic look.
Performance: With a top speed of 193 km/ h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/ h in 9 seconds, the Elan S4 offered impressive performance for its time. Colin Chapman summed up his vision as follows: A car that was accessible, light and incredibly fun to drive.
Competition history: Lotus has enjoyed notable success in motor racing: the model we are offering proudly sports a 1963 - 1965 - 1968 "World Champion Car Constructor" badge. More recently, in 2018, a Lotus Elan driven by Raphaël Favaro and Yves Badan won the Tour Auto, a prestigious historic rally.
