History of the Alfa Romeo Giulia 1. 3 TI The Alfa Romeo Giulia 1. 3 TI is an impressive example of Italian automotive architecture and embodies the combination of technical refinement and stylish design. It is part of the first Giulia series, launched in 1962, which quickly established itself as one of the most advanced saloons of its time. The designation "1. 3 TI" stands for "Turismo Internazionale" and refers to the model's sporty and comfortable orientation. Under the bonnet was a 1. 3-litre in-line four-cylinder engine with twin carburettors which, despite its reasonable size, offered a lively display of power - typical of Alfa Romeo. At around 82, the Giulia 1. 3 TI accelerated with ease and reached a top speed of around 160 km/ h - impressive figures for a lower-middle-class saloon in the late 1960s. The Giulia's characteristic angular design was not only an expression of modern design language, it was also well thought out from an aerodynamic point of view. The coefficient of drag (cw) of around 0. 34 was exceptionally low for a four-door saloon of the time. Giuseppe Scarnati, Alfa Romeo's chief designer, was responsible for the design, while the body design was carried out under the direction of Orazio Satta Puliga, one of the company's leading engineers. Puliga was renowned for his ability to reconcile technology and aesthetics. The Giulia was one of the first production saloons to feature a body structure designed to withstand impacts, a feature that was still rare at the time. The chassis with independent wheel suspension at the front and rigid axle at the rear, combined with disc brakes on all four wheels, also ensured superior road holding. The 1. 3 TI version of the Giulia represented the technical maturity and stylistic clarity of this range. Its interior was sober but of high quality, with a clearly structured dashboard and refined details that enhanced the driving experience. The Giulia was appreciated by family men and sporty drivers alike - a true all-rounder with character. In 1999, it was sold to Udine and in 2009 arrived in Germany, in Mainz, then a year later with its last owner, in Neuler, Baden-Württemberg. A very clear and understandable story. This Giulia was delivered in the colour 'Azzuro Spazio'. With the original interior in very good condition, this is a rare and very noble colour combination.
