Description
The 400, which succeeded the 365 GT4 2+2, was Ferrari's first production model equipped with an automatic gearbox. This was a bold decision, designed to make the driving experience more accessible to those looking for a gran turismo that combined luxury with everyday practicality. This model has managed to retain the typical Ferrari experience, with its characteristic engine noise and responsive performance, while introducing a new standard of comfort. Under the bonnet is a fuel-injected V12 engine, which not only gives the engine a direct and powerful response, but also produces a deep, throaty sound, recognisable from low revs and which becomes a veritable symphony at higher speeds. This sound, combined with the flowing lines of the bodywork, makes every drive in the Ferrari 400 i a unique experience. This specific model is a well-preserved example, whose interior is in good condition and has stood the test of time, contributing to its appeal to enthusiasts and collectors. Designed by Pininfarina, the bodywork exudes a certain simplicity, while subtle details such as the double round rear lights and the slim silhouette contribute to the model's classic look. This understated appearance means that the 400i does not seek to attract attention, but rather exudes a restrained power that is only truly appreciated by connoisseurs. The Ferrari 400i Automatic is an attractive model for collectors. The combination of its rarity, luxury and direct, authentic driving experience makes this car a valuable addition to any collection. In addition, the Ferrari 400 reflects a transitional period in the history of the marque, when driving comfort became increasingly important without compromising the Ferrari DNA.
