L'Atelier des 1000 is pleased to offer for sale this superb Peugeot 205 Roland Garros Cabriolet, presented here in its elegant Sorrento Green metallic colour, combined with white and green leather and fabric upholstery, typical of this emblematic series. Marketed between 1989 and 1994, the 205 Roland Garros was the result of a partnership between Peugeot and the famous Parisian tournament. This special edition was designed for a chic rather than sporty clientele, at a time when cars were also seen as fashion accessories. This special edition was born of the craze for Roland Garros in the 1980s, particularly after Yannick Noah's emblematic victory in 1983, which boosted the tournament's popularity in France and gave a high profile to this charming model.
Around 6, 400 of the cabriolet version were produced, and it became a symbol of the 90s, with its relaxed, elegant styling and wind-in-your-hair driving pleasure. It is immediately recognisable by its Sorrento Green paintwork, special wheels, white soft top and Roland Garros logos on the wings, all by Pininfarina.
