Description
In the mid-1960s, the English marque Triumph rode the wave of small convertibles with quite sporty handling. This is how the models TR2 (already in the 50s) up to TR7 (TR for Triumph Roadster) enjoyed a certain level of success. During all the series of this model, notably the TR6, which was marketed from 1969 to 1976, with almost 95, 000 units produced… a sales record at the time for the brand. The Triumph TR6 is an evolution of the TR5, which shares the same chassis and the entire central portion of the bodywork (managed by Karmann). The engine is a 6-cylinder developing 124 hp. It would be replaced by the TR7, which would achieve even better sales figures.
NYC’s/ OXOTO puts this very beautiful example of the Triumph TR6 up for sale here, in grey, with a black leather interior, totaling less than 8, 000 miles on the odometer. We have good traceability of the life of this fine TR6. Delivered new in the USA, it was imported in 1998 by a French owner living in England. Subsequently, this French owner arrived in Paris with this fine Triumph. We have a large amount of paperwork detailing the period during which he kept the car (maintenance invoices, insurance documents, paperwork for the plates, etc.).
In October 2019, this TR6 became Belgian, sold a year later, in September 2020 to its current owner, still Belgian. The latter, after a very, very large amount of expenses for a perfect restoration, decided to sell it due to lack of time to enjoy it. We therefore have a huge quantity of recent expense invoices, more than €15, 000!
The bodywork looks very, very good; note two fine scratches (on the right rear wing and the right front wing) as well as a very small defect at the bottom of the driver's door, but otherwise it is truly immaculate. No dents or corrosion; see photos taken on the ramp.
The interior is very nice as well, whether the seats, the dashboard, the centre console, the carpets; it presents really very well.
The hood is also in good condition. The soft-top cover is also in order; only two push buttons for closing are missing, really a small detail.
The wood on the dashboard and the steering wheel is truly superb, very pleasant to the touch.
Regarding the mechanical side, it starts truly at the drop of a hat, what a melody. Given the numerous works carried out in recent years (see invoices on our site), we can really say there is nothing to plan. See photos on our ramp; the underside looks really very, very good.
The last MOT report dates from October 2022 (5, 868 miles) and mentions only 2 minor remarks (steering track rod end and possible fluid leak), since corrected.
A ramp is available in our facilities to show you the underside of the vehicle.
