Due to family reasons, sale of a 1970 Mercedes 280 SL Pagode, California model with hardtop. Four-speed manual gearbox and power steering.
The paintwork is in good condition and the body is sound, with no signs of corrosion.
The interior is in good condition; the carpet is new and all gauges are functioning.
The Becker radio, converted to FM/ Bluetooth by Radio Rétro Sensation, works perfectly.
The engine is not matching. It uses a block from a saloon 280 SE (code M130. 980 - 160hp/ 345Nm@4250rpm), same generation and displacement. The 280SLs are normally equipped with the M130. 983 block (170hp/ 245Nm@4500rpm).
On the braking side, the master cylinder and flexible hoses have been replaced recently. Numerous recent works as well: rear axle spring compensator, silent blocks (engine, gearbox, axle, rear radius rods).
The vehicle has undergone a recent professional appraisal (report available). The MoT is favourable.
