We offer for sale this AC Cobra 427 Semi-Competition, a faithful and rare replica by the manufacturer Hi-Tech Motorsports. The HTM AC Cobra’s tubular chassis is of an architecture identical to the CSX.
In recent years, more than €40, 000 in costs have been invested by its last owner. At acquisition, the vehicle was already well presented; several photos and appraisal reports confirm this, but the latter wished this AC to be perfectly to his taste and flawless.
At the end of 2022, its fibre body was fully stripped, then repainted, polished and glossed in the magnificent Canepa blue shade. Its side pipes were treated with a high-temperature ceramic coating, its 15-inch Halibrand wheels were stripped and repainted in satin black. Its leather upholstery was renewed and all the carpets replaced.
Its running gear was also the subject of a full refresh, including painting of its control arms and suspension arms, the installation of QA1 threaded shock absorbers, ventilated disc brakes and Wilwood 4-piston calipers, as well as the replacement of all consumables: tie-rod ends, bushings, steering joints, rack gaiters, etc.
Its engine is a 6. 3-litre Ford 390 FE V8, developing around 440 horsepower and 640 Nm of torque, an engine known to be less fragile than the 427 while being very capable and expressive. It is equipped with a Holley 750 CFM double-pumper carburettor, electronic ignition and MSD loom, and its cooling is provided by a high-capacity Fluidyne aluminium radiator with an additional fan.
Its gearbox is a Ford Top Loader 4-speed, like the one fitted to the original versions.
Its petrol tank is new, bespoke and connected to a VDO gauge.

Today, the car runs perfectly, it rolls and brakes in a straight line, with no parasitic noises, its steering is precise, its engine and its sound offer sensations that no petrolhead could tire of. Its look and finishing quality make it all the more desirable.
With an initial registration in 1987, the car has a collector’s registration.

Some important information to know about HTM.
In 1965, the Hi-Tech Motorsport company, based in Arizona, specialised in restorations and reconstructions of original Cobras and other Ford prototypes. Very quickly, the HTM teams, with access in their premises to original models, developed and produced highly faithful replicas. So faithful that the vast majority of the parts that make them up are interchangeable with an authentic era CSX.
In 1996, its founder Tom Di Antonio joined Carroll Shelby to lead the production of the new Cobra Continuation CSX4000, HTM thus ceased operations.
