With barely over 5, 700 units produced, the Z8 will probably be remembered as the halo concept car par excellence. Produced under the guidance of Chris Bangle, BMW’s chief designer at the time, the design bears Henrik Fisker’s signature. The neo-retro look harks back to the famous 1955 BMW 507 V8. On the engine side, the Z8 uses the M5 E39’s V8 tuned for Motorsport. More than 20 years on, this roadster is today a genuine collector’s item! Beyond the fact that 007 chose it for his missions, the Z8 is unique, rare, exclusive and diabolically capable with its 400 hp.
This example was delivered new to the BMW dealership in Puget-sur-Argens in the southeast in December 2001. Kept with the owner for only a year, it was re-delivered by the same dealership on a second-hand basis in 2002 to its current owner (order form on file).
We have the complete service history carried out exclusively with BMW for 23 years, as well as the owner’s booklet.
The hard top is in excellent condition and is supplied with its stand and protective cover.
The owner has preserved all the original accessories that came with the car, such as the roof cover and wind deflector with storage cases, the BMW tonneau cover, and the owner’s manual with its serial number.
The bodywork presents beautifully in its Titanium Silver shade. The contrast with the red sport Nappa interior is very appealing. The upholstery is in good condition and all instrumentation is functional: climate control, heated seats, electric windows, among others. The “Sport” mode, which is what we’re most interested in, is just as effective. For nostalgic enthusiasts, the famous Motorola phone of the era is worth mentioning.
Mechanically, servicing has always been performed at this same southeast dealership. Notable repairs include:
