Launched in 1986 to replace the Rover SD1, the Rover 800 is the fruit of the collaboration between Austin Rover and Honda, which would give rise to the Legend at the Japanese manufacturer. Initially available as a four-door saloon, the Fastback version (five-door hatch) was launched in the summer of 1988 and notably saw the appearance of the top-spec Vitesse, powered by Honda’s 2. 7L V6 with 24 valves, which inherits the name attached to the SD1 it replaces.
Available in standard trim (including an already very well equipped specification with 4 electric windows, heated electric mirrors with electric adjustment, onboard computer, electric sunroof, 15-inch alloy wheels, perimeter alarm, central locking, headlight wash, specific body kit), the Option Pack finish also includes air conditioning, leather upholstery, as well as electric adjustment of the driver's seat.
This car was bought new by its first owner for use as a holiday residence on the French Mediterranean coast. It travelled very little until 1996 (3, 929 km recorded on the clock in August 1996) and was then stored in a garage until 2015, when it was sold to its current owner. It showed 4, 083 km on the clock at that time.
A simple service (with preventive replacement of the timing belts, water pump, etc.) allowed it to be back on the road.
With 12, 195 km certified on the odometer, this 827 Vitesse is undoubtedly the lowest-mileage example in circulation in France, if not Europe. It is in an exceptional state of presentation, both inside and out, proof of its excellent storage conditions.
The technical inspection will be redone prior to sale, and an oil change will be carried out. The registration document is up to date.
