According to the archives of the Citroën Conservatoire, this 7C cabriolet was built on 7 November 1934, making it one of the very first 7C cabriolets, the most developed version for 1934.
Purchased in 2012, while it had been registered in the Var since 1980, the cabriolet boasted the advantage of being complete and having matching chassis, body and engine numbers.
Father and son, aware of the exceptional nature of this example, subsequently undertook its restoration together, aiming for a high-quality restoration in strict compliance with the original configuration, with guidance from the model’s historians.
Absolutely everything was rebuilt, the original mechanicals overhauled, the bodywork fully stripped and repainted, the upholstery redone, and all period-specific accessories for this chassis year recovered.
The car has only covered a few kilometres since this restoration.
If this version is already rare in itself, the fact that it is strictly original and bears matching numbers is truly remarkable.
A genuine collector’s item, this handsome cabriolet will satisfy the most discerning enthusiasts.
The restoration of this car was completed about four years ago; a few photos and invoices are on file. Its Citroën Heritage certificate is available and confirms that this car is indeed in factory specification. Also accompanied by a substantial dossier detailing the restoration and re-conformity of numerous details.
