The mechanicals are the competition-spec version and have been completely overhauled.

Lea-Francis built 85 2. 5L Sports roadsters, including this one, which is number 1 with a competition engine. The coachwork is entirely aluminium with a 4-speed transmission paired to a 2. 5L four-cylinder engine with twin camshafts and two SU carburettors developing over 100 bhp.
This car, used by the factory as a test model, features a competition engine (special crankshaft and pistons, reworked intake and exhaust) developing 120 bhp.
The mechanicals have been fully restored as have the suspension and steering.
The car reaches and exceeds 150 km/ h.
