Description
Newly delivered in France in Paris, this 1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider 1600 presents itself today in a particularly elegant and uncommon specification: white, black interior with white piping, black hood, and yellow headlights original to France.
The car has had only three owners since it was first delivered.
After an initial Parisian life, the second owner bought it for his wife. Following a breakdown, the car was tucked away in a garage in 1972, with the intention of being repaired. It remained there, sheltered, for several decades, until it was sold in 2016.
The third owner, a passionate mechanic, then undertook a complete restoration, carried out to a high standard. Upon arrival at the workshop, the discovery in the boot of the full set of parts intended to transform it into a higher-performance version naturally steered the project.
The restoration, fully documented, was conducted meticulously. The bodyshell is stripped to bare metal, revealing a remarkably sound body, the result of limited use and long indoor storage. The original configuration is strictly respected, with the exception of the installation of the Veloce kit, in perfect harmony with the car’s spirit.
Restauration & mécanique
• Bodywork stripped to bare metal
• Custom-made hood fitted by a specialist trimmer
• All chrome fully re-chromed, in remarkable condition
• Mechanical overhaul in full:
• Sleeves, pistons and shell bearings replaced
• Crankshaft checked
• Clutch replaced
• Gearbox overhauled
• Braking system fully rebuilt
Since its restoration, the Giulia Spider has taken part in a few regularity runs, confirming reliability, performance and the quality of the work carried out.
Our view
This is an exceptional Giulia Spider 1600, both for its condition and its provenance and for its rare, timeless colour combination. A car that has spent its entire life in France, now ready to be used and enjoyed without compromise.
