The car offered here, chassis no. 297022, is a former Garage Maestricht example. We sold this car a few years ago to a Dutch enthusiast who, after careful consideration, decided to part with it as he did not use it enough. As this is one of the best Giardinieras we have ever encountered, we were, of course, delighted to support him in this endeavour.
Today, this Fiat is registered in the Netherlands under the number 21-YE-89. It has been carefully maintained and regularly serviced since its acquisition from us a few years ago. An appraisal report (Verstrate Taxaties) dated October 2024 appears in the history file and values the Fiat at €18, 500. Since then, the Giardiniera has covered only 1, 000 km.
Like most examples, this Giardiniera is of Italian origin, with an initial registration in 1973 on its home market in Italy. It presents today in exceptional condition, both aesthetically and technically, thanks to a full restoration carried out a few years ago. The configuration is among the most desirable: Azzurro Acquamarina 433 (undoubtedly the most beautiful colour for a classic Fiat 500) paired with Light Beige interior. The car is equipped with engine no. 0430453, regarded as the original.
It is clear that the overall condition far surpasses the usual Fiat 500 standards: uniform and neatly finished paint, original correct weld points in the proper locations, precise and regular bodywork alignments. The fixings, chrome, seals and rubbers are compliant and in excellent condition. The underbody has received anti-corrosion treatment as well as protection for hollow sections to provide excellent resistance to the elements for years to come.
Technically, the car lives up to its appearance: engine in great shape (also restored), smooth gearbox and all equipment functioning perfectly. The last service was carried out in June 2025 (about 400 km ago) and the car is equipped with near-new Cinturato tyres. It requires no work before taking to the road. It is supplied with its original jack, spare wheel and its complete history file.
In summary:
Certainly one of the most accomplished and complete examples of its type currently available. Offered today at a fraction of the cost that a restoration at this level would entail.
