Description
We offer a 1959 MGA 1500 cabriolet, finished in British Racing Green, faithful to the British spirit of the era. This shade highlights the car’s low, taut lines and pairs with a light grey leather interior. A British icon of the 1950s, the MGA marks a major turning point in MG’s history with its fluid, low, distinctly sporty design.
Power comes from its 1, 489 cc inline-four, the quintessential MGA 1500 unit. This engine, fed by twin SU carburettors, develops 72 horsepower in original spec, coupled with a four-speed manual gearbox which was refurbished in 2017.
The cabin is well presented. The light grey leather seats are in good showroom condition. The dashboard, painted to match the body colour, houses the original central instrumentation, with its circular dials and controls typical of the late 1950s. The MG-badged three-spoke steering wheel and the entire set of controls contribute to a simple, functional ambience.
Our car, owned by the same owner for 9 years, has been maintained by specialists and made reliable with electronic ignition 123, installation of a disc brake kit, fitted with a new fuel pump and new tank, new radiator, new exhaust system, and replacement of wheel cylinders.
This MGA is registered in France as a collection vehicle.
