Description
We have the pleasure of offering this Jaguar XK150 3. 8 Convertible (DHC) delivered new in March 1960, the ultimate evolution of the famous XK lineage.
This particularly striking example features highly sought-after characteristics. It is parmi the rare XK150s equipped with the original 3. 8‑litre engine and retains on our car its Matching Numbers engine and cylinder head, as well as the original optional overdrive.
The car is also Matching Colors, dressed in its superb British Racing Green paired with Suede Green upholstery, a configuration especially elegant and in keeping with its build sheet.
The car had been kept in dry storage for almost 30 years before being acquired by its current owner who undertook a complete restoration between 2019 and 2021 with marque specialists in the United Kingdom.
The bodywork was completely stripped, restored and repainted in its original British Racing Green. The bumpers and various chrome parts were restored or replaced according to their condition.
The interior was also fully restored, carried out with Jaguar-original-specification materials and entrusted to a recognised British specialist. Works include complete seat refurbishment, dash overhaul and reconditioning of the interior trim in Suede Green. The hood was also completely rebuilt in mohair.
The mechanicals were completely dismantled and rebuilt: the engine block cleaned and re-machined, new pistons, valves and bearings. The gearbox and overdrive were fully overhauled, as was the rear axle. The cooling system was redone, including the addition of an extra electric fan.
The chassis and underbody have been cleaned, prepared and treated. The running gear has been restored with dismantling and refurbishment of all suspension components, replacement of bushes with Polybush, as well as joints, track rods and hubs. The braking system was completely overhauled with new discs and four-piston Cooper-Craft calipers at the front.
The electrical system was also redone with a new loom matching the original, complemented by a Dynator alternator conversion and the installation of a 123 electronic ignition, improving reliability and ease of use of the car.
The car rides on superb 72-spoke chrome wheels.
The car has covered around 4, 000 km since restoration and performs almost to perfection.
Our example comes with a complete dossier, including the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, detailed restoration documentation as well as numerous photographs and invoices for the works.
