Description
The offer is a magnificent, well-made replica of the Ariel HS. The HS was the competition version of the Red Hunter, produced only between 1954 and 1958 (HS stood for Hunter Scrambler). The HS had sportier cams, stronger valve springs, higher compression and other clever features delivering around 34 bhp at 6, 000 rpm. This Ariel HS replica features a bore over 20 mm and is indicated on a small brass tag fixed to the base of the cylinder as having a 9:1 compression. In other words, it should be fine. The Ariel HS was advertised at the time as having proven itself in competition… finely tuned for cross‑country racing enthusiasts, easily convertible into a handsome sport‑type road bike. The high‑performance engine features an alloy cylinder head, a high‑compression head and piston and polished internals… a powerplant on wheels! The same could be said for this pretty HS replica. It was restored in the late 1990s and has since covered only 15, 646 km on the odometer. It remains in very good condition, clean and ready to ride. Registered for road use with a valid EU registration document. Please contact us for more information, photos and a video of the bike running.
