AC Cobra 427 S/ C – Unique Motorcar – 1980 – Factory rebuilt 2010/ 2011 – 3, 800 km – Concours condition
There are Cobras… and there is this one.
I am putting up for sale a 427 S/ C built by Unique Motorcar, the oldest American supplier of AC Cobra replicas, renowned for its absolute fidelity to the original specifications.
This car was assembled in 1980, in the iconic specification: Guardsman Blue, Wimbledon White racing stripes, Ford V8 Cleveland engine, Toploader 4-speed gearbox. A true S/ C, in the pure spirit of 1965.
Between 2010 and 2011, the car was brought back to its manufacturer for a complete factory rebuild.
Not a rough restoration: a line‑assembly return, with replacement or rejuvenation of all mechanical and structural elements:
• chassis and running gear sanded and phosphated.
• new suspension
• new Wilwood brakes, pedals, calipers, discs.
• new steering
• new wiring harness
• interior leather + new carpets
• rebuilt Ford 351 engine. Roller‑cam cylinder head.
• clutch 3800 km
• TopLoader gearbox
• Salisbury limited‑slip differential, factory ratio.
All certified by Unique Motorcar, with official documentation to back it up.
As with period ACs, it has:
• a blue alpaca soft top, with its original bows
• its English side screens
• the rear cabin pocket for the side screens, exactly as in 1965
The car shows 3, 800 real km.
Its condition is simply astonishing: you’d think it came straight from the factory.
Bodywork, interior, mechanicals, underside… everything exudes quality, precision and respect for the original.
This is a rarissime opportunity to acquire a 1980 Cobra rebuilt at the factory,
with a clear history, concours condition and almost-new mileage.
A Cobra for the discerning enthusiast, demanding, who is looking for the real thing, not an approximation.
