Power steering
Vehicle completely rebuilt and prepared by Ets MURATET in 2019 in accordance with specifications set at the time by the Renault Gordini competition department for Group 2 homologation.
A car that was owned by the same proprietor between 1984 and 2019. Previously registered in the 46 department, we have the old registration document dating from 1982 suggesting it therefore had 3 owners.
On the bodywork side, a complete restoration was carried out.
As the vehicle was intended for competition, the shell was stripped bare to adapt all reinforcements and specifications for Group 2 homologation.
The safety cage to current standards was fabricated by specialist Jacques Point.
A high-quality white paint was applied. Livery in the colours of "Radio Monte Carlo" was chosen.
It is in good presentable condition. The doors are rather well aligned. It is equipped with "GOTTI" light alloy wheels (not steel as standard), genuine original accessories for Group 2.
Within the cabin you'll find all the specifics of a Group 2:
- Multi-point safety cage
- Safety harness
- Bucket seats
- Interior and exterior circuit breaker
- FIA-compliant automatic fire extinguisher
- Additional gauges on the original dashboard
- R12 Break fuel tank with greater capacity (change approved by the competition department)
- Twin electric fuel pumps in the boot
- Damper and radio system (not sold with)
- Electronic ignition
On the mechanical side, the preparation carried out follows the recommendations "160 bhp RENAULT GORDINI Conversion".
The 807. 20 engine type of 125 bhp was prepared by specialist MURATET according to the specifications of the original 807-G kit of 1596 cc.
Notably, there is preparation of the cylinder head and engine block: valve seat rectification after valve modification, combustion chamber modification, cylinder head resurfacing, replacement of the timing kit, installation of forged pistons and connecting rods.
Light alloy cylinder head cover, exhaust manifold, intake trumpets on the twin-choke WEBER45 carburettors are visible.
A DMT dog-leg gearbox was recently fitted in place of the original 5-speed box.
Front and rear suspension have also been revised. Suspension arms were reinforced according to the plan provided by Gordini.
The adjustable castor rods are specific to the Group 2 version.
Front and rear dampers were specifically fabricated for rallying by specialist SAUBEN.
The complete braking system was revised and equipped for rallying (Carbone Lorraine type).
A stainless steel exhaust was installed.
The electrical harness was completely redone.
An inspection was carried out to assess the quality of the restoration and Group 2 preparation for competition in compliance with period regulations.
This was validated as meeting the specification with a maximum of authentic parts, which is quite rare.
A car built for racing, ready to drive and eligible in all VHC - VHRS rallies.
