Description

RENAULT 12 GORDINI GROUP B 1974
R1173
VHRS- VHC
PTH of 05/ 06/ 2020
FIVA PASSPORT of 16/ 12/ 2019
Participation in the Tour Auto, Monte Carlo Rally and historic Tour de Corse.

Vehicle completely rebuilt and prepared by Ets MURATET in 2019 in accordance with the specifications set at the time by Renault Gordini’s competition department for Group 2 homologation.

A car that was owned by the same owner from 1984 to 2019. Previously registered in department 46, we possess the old registration document from 1982 which suggests it had three owners in total.

Bodywork: a full restoration has been carried out. As the car is intended for competition, the shell was stripped to fit all reinforcements and the specifications for Group 2 homologation. The roll bar conforming to current standards was built by specialist Jacques Point. A very high quality white paint finish was applied. A livery in the colours of "Radio Monte Carlo" was chosen. It presents well. The doors and panels are fairly well aligned. It is equipped with GOTTI alloy wheels (light alloy) rather than standard steel wheels, genuine original accessories for Group 2.

Inside the cabin you’ll find all the Group 2 specifications:
- Multi-point safety cage
- Harness seat belts
- Bucket seats
- Interior and exterior cut-off switches
- FIA-compliant automatic fire extinguisher
- Added pressure gauges on the original dashboard
- R12 Break fuel tank of smaller capacity (homologation change approved by the competition department)
- Dual electric fuel pumps in the boot
- Mounting framework and radio system (not sold with the car)

Mechanical side: the preparation follows the recommendations "Transformation 160 hp RENAULT GORDINI". The 125 hp type 807. 20 engine has been prepared by MURATET according to the original 807-G 1596 cm3 kit specifications. Notably, a head and block treatment: valve-seat machining after valve modifications, combustion chamber modification, cylinder head resurfacing, timing kit replacement, installation of forged pistons and connecting rods. Lightweight alloy rocker covers, exhaust manifold, and velocity stacks on the WEBER45 dual carburettors are visible.

A gear box with dog clutches (DMT) was recently fitted to replace the original 5-speed gearbox, which has been retained by the owner and is sold with the car.

Front and rear suspension have also been revised. The suspension wishbones have been reinforced per Gordini’s plan. Adjustable toe rods are specific to the Group 2 version. Front and rear dampers were specially manufactured for rallying by SAUBEN. The complete braking system has been revised and fitted for rallying (Lorraine carbon type). A stainless steel exhaust was installed.

The wiring loom has been completely redone.

An appraisal was carried out to assess the quality of the restoration and Group 2 preparation for competition in line with the period regulations. It was validated as meeting the specifications with a maximum number of authentic parts, which is quite rare.

A race-ready car, ready to run and eligible for all VH rally events - VHRS.
