Description

History of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider Veloce

The Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider Veloce, designed by Battista Farina and his team at Pininfarina, ranks among the most striking cars of its era and still embodies today the timeless design of Italian sports cars. With its smooth, clean lines and perfectly balanced proportions, this elegant cabriolet has become a genuine 1960s icon. It was unveiled for the first time in 1962 at the Geneva Motor Show and quickly established itself as one of the most coveted models of its time.
Evolution of the Giulietta Spider, the Giulia Spider Veloce stands out not only with a modernised design but also with a more powerful engine. Its 1. 6‑litre four‑cylinder develops 112 hp, delivering, thanks to the vehicle’s light weight, dynamic and exhilarating performance. On winding roads, the Spider reveals its full potential: great agility, a precise gearbox and an exceptional connection between driver and road make it a purist’s dream of a car.
The interior prioritises functionality, pared back to essentials while retaining the distinctive elegance of its era. The clearly laid‑out instruments and the leather‑wrapped steering wheel offer an authentic driving experience. The Spider Veloce captivates not only with its aesthetics but also with a sense of freedom and pure driving pleasure — a true masterpiece in automotive history.

History of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider Veloce offered – SSC655

This Cabriolet was delivered new in the United States. In the 1990s it was discovered by a German collector, imported to Europe and carefully restored by German Alfa Romeo specialists. It was then registered in December 1998 by its sole German owner.
Today, the vehicle presents in an exceptional condition. It has been very lightly used and is exhibited defect‑free in our showroom. In recent years, its maintenance has been regularly attended to by the Alfa Classic Center. An Italian “dolce vita” experience without compromise is guaranteed with this magnificent cabriolet.
The vehicle currently has cancelled German papers.

Summary

The Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider Veloce embodies the elegance and refinement of 1960s Italy and sits perfectly within the glamorous world of Federico Fellini’s iconic film La Dolce Vita. The film, which captures the high‑society Roman lifestyle, makes the Spider Veloce a symbol of freedom, luxury and carefree living.
This Giulia remains a cult car, appealing as much for its beauty as for its technical sophistication and remarkable performance. In short, an irresistible icon awaits enthusiasts of Italian automotive culture.
