Classic Car Design is offering you a car that has almost vanished from our streets: a rare Simca-Chrysler 1307 S! This example dates from 1976, the year the model won the title of 'Car of the Year'. It has benefited from the good care of a marque enthusiast who bought it second-hand ten years ago. A major difference from the base 1307s, the engine of the 1307 S is equipped with two carburettors for increased power.
Externally, the car has been repainted in its original colour Alpaca Grey and presents beautifully. The bodywork is in very good condition and rust-free. The bumpers and wheels have also been repainted.
Inside, it has retained its original upholstery in generally very good condition apart from a few signs of wear. The 1307 offers a very practical rear bench seat that folds down in seconds, giving a large totally flat loading area. Even a collectible car can be practical!
Mechanically, it has recently benefited from a major mechanical overhaul with notably: a refurbishment of the gearbox with clutch replacement, overhaul of the brakes, radiator, oil changes and new tyres...
The Simca 1307 is a car to preserve, as it represents a turning point in automotive history towards larger and more practical vehicles with its front-wheel drive, long wheelbase and tailgate.
