A limited Collector's edition, high-performance and richly equipped to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the legendary Porsche 911! Introduced in August 2003, this Porsche 996, produced in 1963 units, is known under the names “40 Jahre” or “Anniversaire”, and duly marks the 40th anniversary of the 911, which first appeared in… 1963! Based on the Porsche 996 Carrera Phase 2, it is distinguished by its front bumper taken from the 996 Carrera 4S and Turbo (with the grilles painted in body colour: GT Silver metallic, the colour of… the Hypercar Carrera GT). Its side sills come from the 996 GT3, and its 18-inch five-spoke wheels are micro-blasted for a fine finish, a process already used for the Millennium 996 limited edition. At the rear, a specific “911 - 40 Jahre” badge and chromed exhaust outlets complete the identification of this very handsome limited series, truly produced in less than 1, 550 units at the time… There are thought to be only around 1, 300 left worldwide today! The famous 3. 6-litre flat‑6 from the Porsche 996 Carrera Phase 2 paired with a 6-speed manual transmission sees power rise from 320 to 345 hp with the series adoption of the X51 engine kit… The suspension is lowered by 10 mm and the limited-slip differential is standard. The performance is there: top speed 290 km/ h, 0-100 km/ h in 4. 9 s, 0-200 in 16. 5 s and 80-120 km/ h in 5th gear in 6. 5 s… all delivering an exceptional driving feel and enjoyment, accompanied by a captivating and controlled exhaust note! Inside, note the wide use of dark natural leather with a distinctive grain for a very striking look, including the dashboard and door panels. An aluminium ring surrounds the gauges, a matching dash trim adorns the instrument panel, while a small “911” plaque indicating the model number sits in front of the gear lever. Particularly well equipped, this model comes with a factory sunroof, heated sports seats and a Bose audio system with CD player. Porsche also matched the limited series with suitcases (for our example, the large-size case will be provided at sale). A must for collectors! Our very fine example bears No. 1408 of the Limited Series (see photos) and its first registration is dated 4/ 11/ 2004 in France, in the French version! So it is one of the latest and it has had few owners until our seller who has owned it since early 2021. It is in very good condition of presentation and operation, strictly original. It is richly equipped including many optional extras (list available): Sports chassis, 40% locking differential, electrically adjustable seats and mirrors, headlamp wash, heated seats, CD changer and Bose system, cruise control, PSM (Porsche Stability Management), alarm, automatic climate control, electric sunroof, onboard computer, navigation and pre‑wiring for era-typical telephony, leather interior, tinted windshield with a darker upper section, etc… It is hard to beat! Its history is clear, and it has received meticulous and regular care from its successive owners, with a substantial file of invoices and history available at sale. With regular service in the network and from Porsche specialists. Since 2021, interventions and methodical maintenance have been carried out by a reputable Porsche specialist in the Hauts‑de‑France region, with nearly €5, 000 of recent invoices on file: tyres, brakes, wheel refurbishment, various services, … In 2024, at 83, 000 km, note that the clutch and its surroundings were replaced to ensure greater driving comfort.
