Sportwagen Paris presents an Audi Coupé GT 5S—now a rare model, produced only between 1981 and 1983.
This early production version is fitted with the famous inline five-cylinder engine, developing 115 hp. Known for its robustness and distinctive sound, this motor plays a big part in the appeal of driving this Audi. Matched with a well-controlled weight of just 1, 020 kg, it delivers performance that still feels very relevant today, along with great versatility—whether on local roads or motorway.

Our example was delivered new in France on 19 October 1982. It’s presented in very fine original condition and has only had three owners in 44 years. The bodywork is solid with no corrosion, reflecting the care taken to preserve it over the decades.
Its mileage of 134, 000 km is certified by a particularly comprehensive history, including the original purchase invoice, the service booklet, and the various service invoices kept up to today. This record makes it possible to trace the vehicle’s life accurately and confirms careful, thorough upkeep since it was first put on the road.
In recent years, significant maintenance work has been carried out—most notably replacing the timing belt, all four shock absorbers, all four tyres, and the clutch cable—so this Audi can now offer an excellent driving feel.
Custom-made seat covers have been fitted to protect both the front and rear seats, which have therefore retained a very attractive appearance.
We note a few cosmetic imperfections: slight signs of use and some small, localised scratches, which are entirely consistent with a car that has retained the majority of its original paint, aged over 40 years.
