Model history
The story of the Mini “Arc de Triomphe” is written in the heart of Paris, in the 17th arrondissement. It was from that famous dealership on rue de Tilsitt that one of the most exclusive and elegant variations of the classic Mini was born. At a time when driving along hair flowing in the wind in the British little car was the preserve of a few, Rover granted an exclusive agreement and a very limited number of licences to carry out these officially approved, hand-finished transformations. All told, across all engine options, it’s estimated that around 500 homologated examples were built! Needless to say, spotting a genuine Arc de Triomphe Cabriolet has become an absolute rarity.
Our model
This 1992 example, fitted with the 1000cc engine, is presented in a superb Smoke Grey livery that beautifully highlights its timeless lines. It’s a car we know particularly well, having completely restored it in our workshop. Absolutely everything has been gone through in depth: the bodywork has had a full rebuild, the subframes have been epoxy-treated for long-lasting protection, and the entire mechanical package—including the engine, gearbox and clutch—has been completely overhauled.
The cabin has been treated with the same meticulous attention, with bespoke seating upholstered in rich, dark crimson red leather—an elegant nod to the pared-back spirit of the early Mk1 and Mk2 Minis. This colour harmony is finished off with a hood and hood cover in the same crimson red shade, as well as a magnificent Moto-Lita wooden steering wheel that provides the final typically British touch.
Beyond its carefully considered appearance, this Mini is a pure joy to drive, delivering the unspoilt feel of the road.
