Description
This 1964 Jaguar Type S 3. 8L is a real gem of British motoring, combining
luxury, comfort and performance. Bought in 1978 by its current second owner, it has
always been lovingly kept in a garage and shows just 15, 500 km on the clock.
Its 3. 8-litre engine delivers impressive power, with outstanding performance
for the era. Its manual gearbox with a DeNormanville overdrive ensures a
smooth, enjoyable drive. Independent suspension and four disc brakes provide
the kind of road comfort you rarely see in a classic.
The interior is a showcase of refinement: Bordeaux red leather, walnut veneer,
chromed detailing… all of which underlines Jaguar’s craftsmanship. On the outside,
the bodywork wears its original Opalescent Gunmetal paint, emphasising its
air of sporting confidence—timeless, too.
History and Restoration
In 2014, a full restoration was carried out, backed by €82, 000 worth of invoices.
Every detail was attended to in order to preserve the car’s authenticity and performance.
Since then, this Jaguar has been maintained with the utmost care. Only repainting
will be required to address a few cracks caused by long exposure to sunlight.
An appraisal valued the car at €45, 000. The complete restoration and appraisal dossier is
available on request.
