Description
1967 Porsche 912 Targa Soft Window SWB - Slate Grey - Matching numbers (Porsche certificate) - Ex Sonauto.
Some Porsches tell a story; others embody an era. This 1967 912 Targa “Soft Window” brings both together. Presented in its original specification, apart from the Fuchs wheels added in 1969, this rare car is a testament to the early days of the Targa—an ingenious technical solution developed by Porsche in the late 1960s to combine open-air driving with structural rigidity. It belongs to the first generation, the purest, with its soft, retractable rear window—today an iconic feature and particularly sought after.
This vehicle has benefited from 3 years of full restoration: engine, gearbox, running gear, bodywork, brightwork/ chromes, all-new seals, including cataphoretic coating (cataphorèse), Fuchs wheels, 5-speed gearbox, and 5 dials/ instruments. Replacement with Porsche original parts where available.
3, 400 km covered since the restoration (over 3 years). More than €80, 000 in restoration costs (invoices available).
There would now be only around a hundred examples left, as the soft window version was produced just during the year 1967.
