Introduced in 1971, the Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV represents the final evolution of the famous Bertone coupés. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, it retains the same lines that made the 1750 Veloce and 1300 Junior coupés so successful, while benefiting from the 2. 0-litre twin-cam bialbero engine with dual overhead camshafts. Stylish, accomplished and especially enjoyable to drive, it’s today regarded as one of the most sought-after classic Alfa Romeos among collectors.
The example we’re offering stands out for its rare and particularly tasteful specification: a Verde Oliva body paired with a red leather interior of the kind you rarely see these days. The leatherwork and its patina give the car an unmistakably intimate, tactile character.
Mechanically, the car is superb; the engine is in full health and breathes freely, while the gearbox is wonderfully smooth and locks up properly.
The running gear is precise: the steering has no abnormal play, and the suspension and braking do exactly what they should.
The bodywork is in very good overall presentation, with panel gaps and alignments that meet the standards of the era.
The upholstery is well preserved, as are the wooden trim pieces on the dashboard and the steering wheel. The whole cabin displays a consistent patina, giving the interior its full authenticity.
The dashboard is free from cracks and the headlining is in very good condition.
The instrumentation is also perfectly functional.
As for the chrome, it has been preserved and remains beautifully bright.
The black carpets are in excellent condition; the contrast with the red leather is simply superb.
The wheels suit the car perfectly and come from the period Momo accessory catalogue, fitted with Firestone tyres in good condition.
