Exported from Germany to California in 1985, our example has had only two owners, with the first keeping it for nearly 38 years. It also benefits from documented mileage records since 2000, and currently shows 126, 000 miles (201, 000 km).
The 500 SL represents the pinnacle of the R107 range and stands out with its remarkable 5. 0-litre V8 engine producing 245 bhp, paired with a 4-speed automatic gearbox. This model, destined for Europe, was produced in only 143 examples for France.
With just 11, 812 examples produced out of a total of 237, 287 SLs, the 500 SL is today one of the most sought-after and highly valued versions of the R107 family.
Its dual-chain V8 is renowned for its performance, robustness and reliability. With 245 bhp, performance remains thoroughly contemporary: 225 km/ h top speed and 0 to 100 km/ h in just 7. 3 seconds.
