Description
Hello, I'm selling a 1981 Maserati Quattroporte III with 105, 000 original kilometres, for restoration or parts. It's equipped with the legendary 4. 9L V8 engine.
I've owned it for several years and wanted to undertake a restoration, but lack of time and successive personal changes put paid to my plans.
The history of this Quattroporte is really interesting. It's one of only 37 delivered new in France.
It was delivered by Thepenier on 22/ 12/ 1980, to a Mr Oziel.
It spent the early part of its life in Paris before joining a Maserati collector at the end of the 90s (who also owns an Indy).
When its owner passed away, the car was bequeathed and continued to be used until around 2010 by the family.
So it hasn't been driven for 10 years, it will need recommissioning.
Regarding the bodywork, it will require attention—there is some corrosion present. I have more detailed photos if needed.
The paint is original in that distinctive Maserati blue and has never been resprayed to my knowledge.
The leather is still supple.
It's complete, both mechanically and cosmetically.
I'd like to see it back on the road one day, but if it's to serve as a donor to save another, then I'll accept its fate. The value in spare parts could actually be quite substantial.
I have the registration document and key, as well as a recently issued certificate of no encumbrance.
The price is €9, 500. I'm willing to listen to any reasonable offers and answer questions from genuine interested parties. Part exchange possible based on sale price.
