Description
"Before Porsche went digital, this is what it looked like."
This 1982 Porsche 911 SC Targa is exactly the sort of car that gets enthusiasts excited. A proper G-series 911: air-cooled, rear-engined and steeped in that inimitable Porsche character.
At the back sits the glorious 3. 0-litre flat-six boxer, sending its power to the rear wheels with a wonderfully raw, mechanical soundtrack.
Roof off, sunshine overhead and the flat-six right behind you. What more could you ask for?
The 911 SC, SC standing for Super Carrera, marked an important chapter in Porsche's history. More robust, more reliable and technically more advanced, while still delivering a pure, mechanical driving experience.
Porsche also made an important step forward when it came to protecting the bodyshell. The fully galvanised body offered markedly improved corrosion resistance, helping to earn this generation its reputation as one of the most durable 911s ever built.
This is the G-series 911 for those who would rather drive than polish.
The previous owner clearly understood the essence of this Porsche. Not a car to simply admire, but one to drive and savour.
In 2020, it was time to give it the attention it deserved. The engine and mechanical components underwent a complete overhaul at a Porsche specialist. Not a mere cosmetic refresh, but a thorough technical restoration, the result of a serious investment in time, care and expertise.
The objective was clear: return this 911 to a healthy mechanical condition, ready for many miles of driving pleasure.
Imagine a beautiful morning. The Targa roof is off, the key turns and the air-cooled flat-six comes to life right behind you. A winding road awaits, the window is down and that inimitable six-cylinder note fills your ears.
Air-cooled. Targa. G-series. Ready to drive.
