The Appeal
The Moto Guzzi Le Mans 850 is a truly great bike. Perhaps, you might imagine, it would be hard to improve upon. Step forward this astonishing example. It is one of 35 to feature a kit developed by engineer, racer and MV Agusta team manager Arturo Magni.
To call it a kit rather underplays the work involved. The Magni Lemans 1000, affectionately known as the "MaGuzzi," went far beyond cosmetic addenda to include boring out the engine to 1000cc and upgrading frame, suspension, gearbox and brakes.
This 1986 bike is believed to be the first Magni kit sold in the UK. Whilst part of the current keeper’s collection, he has had it extensively restored, including a full engine rebuild by Amedeo Castellano of Raceco UK. The results are so impressive and the bike so rare that it was featured in Bike-urious in 2018.
Showing under 25,000 miles from new and brought to market with current MOT, this is a fantastic, perhaps one-of-a-kind opportunity to acquire a true unicorn of collector bikes.
