The Appeal
There are Rolls-Royces and then there are Rolls-Royces. Those with sufficiently deep pockets ignore the ‘off the shelf’ production models, and instead favour examples like this - the Silver Spur Division.
Coachbuilt by Park Ward on a 14in extended wheelbase SZ model, the Division is an ultra luxurious limousine built for the top of society and, quite often, diplomatic embassies. Alongside a list of features that runs to many pages, each car got the low-pressure turbocharged 6.75L V8 engine delivering 300bhp. Just 38 left the works, of which only 21 were RHD models like this one. It is one of 13 sent to the model’s biggest market, Hong Kong, and spent its early life with an Embassy there.
Beautifully finished in dark Royal Blue metallic with a magnolia and blue leather cabin, it has covered just 52,000 miles in the intervening 27 years. The car arrived back in the UK in 2015 and with its current keeper in 2022. We are told that it was restored by Jack Barclay on arrival and has subsequently received a £40,000 interior retrim. Looking at the cabin’s contents and quality, we can see where the money went.
In recent years, the car has been maintained by marque specialists. Extensive invoices such as the words ‘no expense spared’ apply here. Recent highlights include servicing in 2024 - it has covered few miles since - and repairs to the steering rack, suspension and new shock absorbers in 2022 at a cost of £4,000. In 2025, immediately prior to sale, the vendor spent £2,000 replacing all four tyres with Avons.
Whether you reserve this elevated and rare Rolls-Royce for your personal collection or exploit its obvious commercial opportunities, this is a very impressive vehicle. It comes with lengthy MOT to May 2026 containing no advisories.
