Rare, hand-built Ronart W152 produced in very limited numbers
Reportedly purchased directly from the designer/builder
Has reportedly been overhauled recently
Regularly cared for and regularly used, we are told
The Appeal
Designed by Arthur Wolstenholme and inspired by the flowing lines of 1930s grand prix machinery, the W152 is far from being a simple replica car. These are dramatic, cycle-winged machines that evoke and reinvigorate the golden age of the 1950s front-engined racer, with charismatic Jaguar running gear and impressive, tight-handling performance that made for a fabulous leisure car as easily as it could conquer the track.
This particular example was purchased new from the Ronart factory in 1987, and looks to be in fine order. It has been regularly cared for and regularly used throughout its life, and has recently undergone a complete overhaul, we are told.
Bodywork in very good order with little sign of wear
Characterful outside exhaust
Wire-spoke wheels in good order
Interior is very original and clean
Instruments clear and legible
Complete with sports harnesses and toggle switches
These front-engined cars are deeply attractive things; genuinely loaded with character and highly evocative. This example is no different, and is a very handsome, well-kept machine. The bodywork is clean, straight and well-presented throughout.
The cabin is a determined, relatively slight place to be, with black upholstery, sports harnesses and cut-off switches all present and correct - carrying only very gentle signs of use and looking ready and waiting to embrace the car's lucky new owners. image.png1.47 MB
The Mechanics
4,200cc inline-six engine
Four-speed manual transmission
Mechanically standard
Engine bay in good order
Reportedly overhauled recently
Built upon familiar Jaguar running gear, the Ronart W152 benefits from exceptionally light bodywork and is thus capable of remarkable performance. It's a thrilling, high-octane machine, and this particular example has, we understand, been recently overhauled.
The vendor reports that the car is driving well and is a very spirited drive. image.png1.52 MB
