The Appeal
No Mini RSP, no MINI, it’s really as simple as that. When Rover Special Projects turned its thoughts to rejuvenating the Cooper, it called in Mr Cooper himself for advice. He’d been quietly continuing to modify Minis for customers since the 60s, and the result was this car - the original reborn Cooper, known amongst aficionados as the ‘RSP.’
Of the 1,650 built worldwide, 1,050 were reserved for UK customers. All sold out long before they reached showrooms. You can see why with the photos of this 1990 car, not least because it is about as close to a brand new RSP as you are likely to get. Finished in classic BRG with correct black and red ‘Mini 30’ interior, it is in extremely good condition thanks to having covered just 680 miles. The sparing use is because much of its life has been spent in careful storage as part of a private collection.
With recent serviced and long, advisory-free MOT, this is a rare collector-level opportunity to buy a historically important classic Mini.
The vendor says:
“A Mini Cooper RSP that is factory specification throughout and a remarkable original version showing just 680 miles on the odometer.”
