Almost perfect replica of Derek Bell's 924 Carrera GTS (even down to the correct radio and arial)that was given to him by the factory in 1980 for his successes as a Porsche Works racing driver at Le Mans etc (it is the only one of the many new Porsches presented to him by the factory over the years that he has kept to this day). Only 59 Carerra GTS were made by the factory and as such their rarity value is immense. £250, 000 as a minimum.
This car is based on a 1986 924S, non sunroof model that I found in near mint condition. All bodywork and respray carried out at top classic car restoration works. 944 Turbo front Brembo calipers and drilled and vented discs, rare 951 7 x 16 Fuchs forged alloys to front and 930 Turbo 8 x 16 forged Fuchs (10. 6 ET)rears, intercooler, radiator with twin fans, new a/ c rad. All new adjustable suspension. Original Carrera GT seats (from a fire damaged GT many years ago). Original Carrera GT bonnet scoop. Raised, flush windscreen as originals. Various pieces of bodywork that had to be specially made as they are not available and are unique to a GTS and not the same as a Carrera GT eg: front bumper, rear spoiler, rear GTS badge. I built it to accept a 944 Turbo engine and LSD gearbox by unpicking the front of a Turbo shell and swapping it onto the 924S to enable fitting of the intercooler in the badge panel. Dashboard near perfect (just a couple of tiny cracks at the air vent corners). Rear seat delete from a 968. Top quality front headlight units from a small supplier in Germany (better than the Swiss ones that are advertised). Original and expensive 930 Turbo speedo which was used in the originals. Tacho/ boost guage that is unique to the GTS I have made myself (better and more accurate than the Euro700 unit available from Mittelmotor). Air con parts from an old 944 that I was going to fit (but havn't gotten around to) will be included in the sale. Engine and gearbox are still it's original 924S. So many other things that I have forgotten about. You need to see this stunning car.
