The previous owner of this lovely Morris Minor tourer spent a lot of money creating the car that he wanted which in short was a convertible that looked absolutely stock, but with more useable speed and greater comfort without being too ambitious in terms of power, but possibly something BMC might have progressed to had the Minor stayed in production even longer. He chose a 1275 Marina engine mated to a brand new old stock Austin Healey Sprite gearbox, giving higher second gear and stronger synchromesh, linked to a Sprite back axle. Bodily the car received four new wings, a respray in Smoke grey, before being fitted with a very high quality German mohair tailored tan hood. The interior was retrimmed in the original 1961 style, faithfully keeping the original pleating to the seats using high quality pale blue leather with contrasting cream piping. These are the most comfortable Morris Minor seats I have ever sat in, a tribute to the padding beneath the leather. The result is a very comfortable and driveable Morris Minor which is a bit different from all the rest. It also has a 12 volt socket for a satnav. To protect this special car, it was fitted with an expensive anti-theft device linked to the braking system.
